Goalie Rebound Control Leaders (Rebounds Prevented per 100 Saves)

2026-27All situationsThrough 3 team games

After a save the puck either dies in the goalie's equipment, goes safely to the corner, or sits in the slot for a second shot. Across the league about 12.4% of saves are followed by another attempt from the same team within three seconds.

Rebound Control compares each goalie's rebounds with that expectation, per 100 saves. It is one of the few goalie numbers besides save percentage that repeats from one half-season to the next.

Leader in 2026-27: Logan Thompson (WSH), +9.17 Reb. prevented /100.

  • Early sample: teams have played at most 3 games in 2026-27. Expect big swings.

How to read it

Positive = fewer rebounds than expected. +2.0 means two fewer second chances every 100 saves than an average goalie facing the same shots.

How reliable is it?

Rebounds allowed per save: split-half r ≈ 0.39-0.48. Freeze % was tested and is noise (r ≈ −0.06), so it is not ranked.
