Everything You Can Do on Edgehalla
Edgehalla turns NHL data into fantasy decisions. Some tools answer tonight’s question (who starts in goal, who is on PP1, who to stream), others plan your whole week, and the research pages go as deep as the shift charts. Here is every feature, what it does, who it is for and where to find it. Most of it needs no account at all.

How it fits together
The data. Game data comes from the NHL’s play-by-play, shift charts and boxscores, checked against the official boxscore before use. See the data sources.
The models. Lines, power-play units, expected goals and start probabilities are computed from that data, with each method written up in the methodology hub.
Your league. Connect Fantrax or ESPN and the same numbers drive your weekly dashboard. The steps are in the getting started guide.

Frequently asked questions
Is Edgehalla free?
Yes. Every feature on Edgehalla is free right now, with no paywall and no card required. Most pages and tools do not even need an account.
Which features need an account?
The weekly league dashboard, league connections and the morning email digest for players you follow need a free account. Projections, starting goalies, line combinations, the planners, research pages and Line Watch are open to everyone.
Which fantasy platforms does Edgehalla support?
You can connect Fantrax leagues (public and private) and ESPN leagues (public by league ID, private with your espn_s2 and SWID cookies) for the weekly dashboard. Yahoo paused third-party API access in July 2026, so Yahoo sync is temporarily unavailable. The public tools work for any platform.
Does Edgehalla work for points leagues as well as categories?
Yes. The weekly dashboard supports head-to-head category leagues, where it projects your category totals and the odds of winning each category, and points leagues, where it projects fantasy points for both teams and a win probability.
Where do the starting goalies and line combinations come from?
Each starting goalie is marked Confirmed, Expected or Projected, and starter status is checked every 15 minutes through the day; a start-probability model covers the days ahead. Line combinations and power-play units are rebuilt from the official NHL shift charts after every game.
How do I get alerts for my players?
Create a free account, open a player’s page and follow him. You get one morning email with that player’s Line Watch changes, such as a power-play promotion or a goalie flip. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
How are Edgehalla’s stats calculated?
Every model is documented in the methodology hub with formulas, worked examples and validation results, and the stat glossary defines each acronym in plain English.
