How to connect an ESPN fantasy hockey league
A public league is connected in about a minute with its league ID. A private league adds one step: your espn_s2 and SWID cookies.
Step 1: Create a free account
Sign up with your email in under a minute. No card, no trial clock.
Step 2: Open League settings
Go to Settings › Leagues and choose ESPN.
Step 3: Paste your league URL or ID
Copy your league’s address from ESPN (it contains leagueId=…) or just the number. A public league connects with that alone.
Step 4: Private league? Add two cookies
Paste your espn_s2 and SWID values. They are stored encrypted and used only to read your league.
Step 5: Pick your team
Choose your team, and the weekly dashboard fills in with your roster, matchup and projections.
How to find your ESPN league ID
Your ESPN league ID is the number after leagueId= in the address of your league page on fantasy.espn.com.
Step 1: Open your league on espn.com
Sign in at fantasy.espn.com in a browser and open your hockey league’s page or your team page.
Step 2: Find leagueId in the address
The address looks like fantasy.espn.com/hockey/league?leagueId=12345678. The number after leagueId= is your league ID.
Step 3: Paste the link or the number
Edgehalla accepts the whole URL or just the number. Using only the ESPN app? Open the league in a browser once to copy the address.
Private ESPN leagues: how to find espn_s2 and SWID
ESPN keeps private leagues behind your sign-in. Two browser cookies, espn_s2 and SWID, let Edgehalla read the league as you. Copy them once from a desktop browser, or follow the full espn_s2 and SWID guide with steps for each browser.
Step 1: Sign in at espn.com
Use a desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) and sign in to the ESPN account that belongs to the league. Open your league page so the cookies are fresh.
Step 2: Open the developer tools
Press F12 (or Cmd+Option+I on a Mac). In Safari, turn on the Develop menu in Settings › Advanced first.
Step 3: Find the cookies
Open Application (Chrome, Edge) or Storage (Firefox, Safari), expand Cookies and select the espn.com entry (www.espn.com or fantasy.espn.com).
Step 4: Copy espn_s2 and SWID
Type espn_s2 in the filter box and copy its full value, then do the same for SWID. espn_s2 is a long string of a few hundred characters; SWID looks like {XXXXXXXX-XXXX-…} and the curly braces are part of it.
Step 5: Paste them into Edgehalla
Paste both into the private-league fields in Settings › Leagues. If you later sign out of ESPN everywhere or change your password, paste fresh values.
How we handle your cookies
- espn_s2 and SWID are stored encrypted.
- They are used only to read your league: rosters, settings, matchups and scores.
- Edgehalla never makes moves, trades or lineup changes on ESPN.
- Remove the connection in Settings › Leagues whenever you like.
ESPN fantasy hockey projections for your week
Once your league is connected, the weekly dashboard is built from your roster, your opponent and your league’s scoring settings.
Your roster, with this week’s games
Every player on your team with the games he plays this week, so empty nights and crowded nights are obvious at a glance.
The current matchup
Your opponent this week, side by side with your team, read straight from your league.
End-of-week projections
Projected category totals for head-to-head categories leagues, or projected fantasy points for points leagues, scored with your league’s own settings.
Win probability
A win chance for every category and an overall chance to take the matchup, updated as the week plays out.
Lineup and schedule optimizer
Fit the most games into your active slots and see where a pickup or a swap adds starts before the week runs out.
Free, with no paywall
Connecting a league and every dashboard feature is free right now. Create an account and you are in.
Head-to-head categories and points leagues
Head-to-head categories leagues get a projected end-of-week total in every category, side by side with your opponent, plus a win chance for each category and for the matchup.
Head-to-head points leagues get projected fantasy points for both teams, scored with your league’s point values, and your overall chance to win the week.
The projections come from Edgehalla’s own model, not ESPN’s: each player’s per-game production times the games he has left this week, counted only when he fits into your active lineup.
How the projections work
Each player’s per-game rates come from his production, blended across the current and previous seasons, and are multiplied by the games he has left on the NHL schedule this week.
The optimizer then fills your active lineup slots night by night, so only games you can actually start count toward your projected totals.
Those totals are scored with your league’s own settings: projected category totals in a categories league, projected fantasy points in a points league. The projected margin in each category becomes a win chance for that category, and the categories combine into your overall chance to win the week.

ESPN fantasy hockey FAQ
How do I connect an ESPN fantasy hockey league?
Create a free account, open Settings › Leagues, choose ESPN, paste your league URL or league ID and pick your team. Public leagues need nothing else; private leagues also need your espn_s2 and SWID cookies.
Where do I find my ESPN league ID?
Open your league at fantasy.espn.com in a browser. The address contains leagueId= followed by a number, for example leagueId=12345678. That number is your league ID. If you only use the app, open the league in a browser once to copy it.
What are espn_s2 and SWID?
They are two cookies ESPN sets when you sign in at espn.com. Together they prove you can see a private league, so Edgehalla needs them to read a private league on your behalf.
How do I find my espn_s2 and SWID cookies?
Sign in at espn.com on a desktop browser, open the developer tools (F12), go to Application or Storage, then Cookies and the espn.com entry, and copy the values named espn_s2 and SWID. Keep the curly braces on SWID.
Is it safe to share my ESPN cookies?
Edgehalla stores espn_s2 and SWID encrypted and uses them only to read your league: rosters, settings, matchups and scores. We never change your lineup or anything else on ESPN, and you can remove the connection at any time.
Why did my private ESPN league stop syncing?
ESPN cookies can expire, for example after you sign out of ESPN on every device or change your password. Copy fresh espn_s2 and SWID values and paste them into Settings › Leagues.
Are these ESPN’s own projections?
No. Edgehalla projects every week with its own model, built from each player’s production and his games left this week, then scores it with your ESPN league’s settings.
Which ESPN fantasy hockey scoring formats are supported?
Head-to-head categories leagues and head-to-head points leagues. Projections, category win chances and overall win probability use your league’s own settings.
