Edge guide
Fantasy hockey edge guides
Every Edgehalla tool answers one fantasy hockey question. These guides show how to turn each answer into wins: what the tool tells you, how to use it step by step, how to play it in category leagues (where a blocks win counts the same as a goals win) and in points leagues, and the mistakes that cost managers matchups.

Frequently asked questions
Which guide should I start with?
If you set lineups daily, start with Who Should I Start. If you manage a category league, read Category Catch-Up and the Category Week Planner. For goalies, the Goalie Start Planner guide covers expected starts and confirmations.
What is the difference between category and points leagues?
In category leagues each stat is its own contest, so a hits win counts the same as a goals win. In points leagues every stat converts to points and only the total matters. Each guide covers both.
Do the tools use my league’s scoring?
Yes. The scoring you save in Who Should I Start or Player Comparison (or load from a connected league when signed in) is used by Streamer Finder, the projections tables (a Your scoring column), Starting Goalies (a Your scoring sort), the Category Week Planner and Category Catch-Up (as their starting categories), and the comparison pages’ This week section.
Do I need an account?
No. Every tool works without one. A free account saves your scoring across devices and, with a connected Fantrax or ESPN league, filters tools to players available in your league.
How often is the data updated?
Daily tools refresh through the day, from every 5 to 30 minutes depending on the tool, and weekly planners refresh at least every few hours.
Are these tips for daily fantasy too?
Yes. The Stack Finder guide covers DFS stacks, and Who Should I Start has DraftKings and FanDuel scoring for single-player swaps.
Updated . Projections are estimates, not guarantees; check confirmed lineups and starting goalies before games lock.
