How to Sign Up, Sign In and Connect Your League

Getting set up takes a few minutes. Create a free account, confirm your email if you signed up with one, connect your Fantrax or ESPN league, and your weekly dashboard is ready. Here is each step exactly as it works on the site, plus fixes for the snags people hit most.

  1. Step 1: Create your free account

    Go to the sign-up page and choose Continue with Google, Sign in with Apple, or sign up with your email address and a password. Email sign-ups enter the password twice.

    • Passwords need: at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number. The form checks each rule as you type.
    • Google and Apple sign-ups skip the password and the confirmation email.

  2. Step 2: Confirm your email address

    If you signed up with email, we send a confirmation link. Click it to verify your address and you land straight on your dashboard. You cannot sign in with a password until the address is confirmed.

    • Don’t see the email after a few minutes? Check your spam or promotions folder.

  3. Step 3: Sign in

    On the sign-in page, use your email and password, ask for a magic link (a one-time sign-in link sent to your inbox), or continue with Google or Apple.

    • Opening the dashboard or settings while signed out sends you to sign in, then back to the page you wanted.

  4. Step 4: Reset a forgotten password

    Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page, enter your email and we send a reset link. Open it, choose a new password that meets the same rules, and you are taken to your dashboard.

    • Reset links expire. If yours says it is invalid or expired, request a new one.

  5. Step 5: Connect your fantasy league

    Open league settings and add your league. Fantrax: enter your league ID; public and private leagues are supported. ESPN: public leagues need only the league ID; private leagues also need your espn_s2 and SWID cookies, which are stored encrypted.

    • The Fantrax league ID is the code after /league/ in your league’s web address.
    • The ESPN league ID is the leagueId number in your league’s web address.
    • For a private ESPN league, sign in at espn.com on a computer, open your browser’s developer tools, and copy the espn_s2 and SWID cookie values for espn.com.
    • Head-to-head category and points leagues are supported. Yahoo sync is temporarily unavailable because Yahoo paused third-party API access in July 2026.

  6. Step 6: Open your weekly dashboard

    Your dashboard shows your roster with each player’s games this week, your current matchup, projected category totals (or fantasy points in a points league), win probabilities, and a lineup and schedule optimizer.

  7. Step 7: Set up player alerts

    Open any player’s page and follow him. Each morning you get one email with your followed players’ Line Watch changes: power-play promotions, line moves, ice-time swings, goalie flips and injury notes.

    • The public Line Watch page lists every night’s changes for the whole league.
    • Every digest email has an unsubscribe link.

Troubleshooting

“Please verify your email before signing in”
Your address is not confirmed yet. Find the confirmation email from sign-up (check spam) and click the link, then sign in again.
“Invalid credentials” even though the email is right
If you have only ever signed in with a magic link, Google or Apple, your account has no password yet. Use the magic link option, then set a password in Settings.
The password reset link says it is invalid or expired
Reset links are single-use and expire. Request a fresh one from the Forgot password page and use the newest email.
My private ESPN league will not connect
Check that you copied both espn_s2 and SWID (SWID includes its curly braces) from espn.com while signed in. The cookies can change when you sign out of ESPN, so copy fresh values if it worked before.
I play on Yahoo
Yahoo paused third-party API access in July 2026, so Yahoo league sync is temporarily unavailable. The projections, starting goalies, line combinations and planning tools all work for Yahoo leagues without connecting anything.

Frequently asked questions

Does it cost anything to sign up?

No. Creating an account is free and everything on Edgehalla is free right now. There is no trial and no card to enter.

Can I sign up with Google or Apple?

Yes. The sign-up and sign-in pages both offer Continue with Google and Sign in with Apple, as well as email and password. Google and Apple accounts do not need the email confirmation step.

What are the password requirements?

At least 8 characters, with at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number. The same rules apply when you reset a password or set one in Settings.

Can I sign in without a password?

Yes. Choose the magic link option on the sign-in page and we email you a one-time sign-in link. You can also sign in with Google or Apple.

Which leagues can I connect?

Fantrax leagues, public or private, and ESPN leagues: public ones by league ID, private ones with your espn_s2 and SWID cookies. Head-to-head category and points formats are supported. Yahoo sync is temporarily unavailable.

Is it safe to give Edgehalla my ESPN cookies?

The espn_s2 and SWID values are only needed for private ESPN leagues. They are stored encrypted, never shown back in the browser, and used only to read your league. You can remove a league connection at any time.

Do I need an account to use Edgehalla?

Only for the weekly league dashboard, league connections and email alerts for players you follow. Projections, starting goalies, line combinations, the planners and every research page are open without signing in.

Where do I change my password or connected leagues later?

Both live under Settings once you are signed in: set or change your password there, and manage leagues on the league settings page.
