Drawing a penalty is a quiet way to create offence: a two-minute minor is worth about 0.20 net expected goals to the team that gets the power play. Penalty Value turns each player's minors drawn and taken into goals with that number.

The board ranks the rate per 60 minutes of all-situations ice time, and shows the season total, the raw counts and how many of the penalties he took came late in a long shift, when tired players take them at two to three times the normal rate.
