How this works
Expected points are our weekly projections (the same number as the projections page): field goal tries from the team’s implied total and recent field-goal rate, extra points from expected touchdowns, accuracy by distance shrunk toward the league, +3 points indoors and lower outdoors in wind over 10 mph. The drivers add the team’s stall rate (FG tries ÷ (FG tries + offensive TDs)) and the kicker’s FG%.
Honest read: the edge is small. In 2024–25 our kicker ranking had a 0.19 rank correlation with actual points, against 0.15 for ranking team implied totals.

How do you rank kickers?
By our weekly projection for each team’s kicker: the same expected points as the projections page. Field goal tries come from the team’s implied total and its field-goal rate, extra points from its expected touchdowns, and accuracy by distance is the kicker’s record shrunk toward the league, adjusted for roof and wind. The columns show the drivers, including how often the team’s scoring drives stall into field goals.
Is kicker streaming worth it?
A little. Kicker scoring is very noisy (no method reaches a 0.2 rank correlation week to week); in 2024–25 our kicker ranking had a 0.19 rank correlation with actual points, against 0.15 for simply ranking team implied totals.
Why does a kicker in a dome rank higher?
Indoor kicks are about 3 points of accuracy more reliable, and wind over 10 mph costs outdoor kickers accuracy on every kick, most on long ones. Wind is only known in game week.
