A blocked shot is an opponent's shot attempt stopped by a skater before it reaches the net. Shutdown defensemen and penalty killers dominate, because they spend the most time in front of their own goal. In leagues that split positions, use it to fill your defense slots, and check the per-60 board for defensemen getting more out of fewer minutes.
