A blocked shot is an opponent's shot attempt stopped by a skater before it reaches the net. Shutdown defensemen and penalty killers dominate, because they spend the most time in front of their own goal. In leagues that split forwards and defensemen, this is the board for your forward slots; centres and wingers are pooled together.
