NHL Takeaways per 60 Leaders
2020-21All situationsThrough 56 team games
This board ranks skaters by takeaways per 60 minutes of ice time in all situations, so players with different roles are compared fairly. Players under the minimum-minutes cutoff are hidden.
A takeaway is a puck won from an opponent by a skater's own effort, as judged by the off-ice scorer. Smart two-way forwards with active sticks lead the league. Rates surface low-minute players who already produce takeaways; they gain the most when their ice time grows.
Leader in 2020-21: Mikhail Maltsev (NJD), 3.81 TK/60.
- Legacy recording: before 2024-25 turnovers and hits were recorded arena by arena with large scorer bias. Compare players within this season only.
