Goals against average is goals allowed per 60 minutes in net. Lower is better: below 2.50 over a full season is excellent, and the team's defence shapes it as much as the goalie. GAA is a ratio category, ranked here from lowest. Like SV%, a starter behind a strong defence often looks better than his save percentage says.
