How we calculate team TO± xG/60
For every possession that starts from a turnover, we add the xG of the shots that follow. The team's xG for off turnovers minus xG against off turnovers, per 60 at 5-on-5, is its ledger.
Why it matters for fantasy hockey
Teams that win the turnover battle create easy chances and give up few of the odd-man rushes that sink goalie save percentages.
How to read it
Positive is good: the team gains more than it gives away. A big negative usually means a team that turns the puck over in its own zone.
Limitations
Takeaway and giveaway counts are recorded by arena scorers and vary between buildings, which our zone-based valuation only partly smooths out.
