How we calculate team OZ time %
NHL EDGE tracks the puck's zone every moment of the game; this is the offensive-zone share.
Why it matters for fantasy hockey
Zone time is the tracking version of possession and moves with CF%. Teams that live in the offensive zone give their defencemen point shots and their forwards cycle chances.
How to read it
Around 40–42% is typical (the rest is split between neutral and defensive zones). Higher is better.
Limitations
Zone time includes the puck being dumped in and chased, which is not always possession.
