A forecheck is only as good as what it turns into. We count every offensive-zone hit, takeaway and forced defensive-zone giveaway, then add up the expected goals of the attempts that follow within ten seconds.

Hits make up more than half of these pressure events, and hit recording varied a lot by arena before 2024-25, so older seasons carry a scorer-bias caveat.
