What Team Shots Against measures

This board ranks every NHL team by shots against, lowest first, regular season only. Pick any season back to 2017-18 above the table; each team links to its own players' shots against. Shots on goal allowed, fewest first.

Shot suppression is a stable team trait that settles within a few weeks. Read the number next to its sample: a rate built on a few games moves a lot from week to week, while a total mostly tracks games played and ice time.

Team shots against count every shot on goal the team's goalies faced. Fewest is best: the stingiest teams allow under 27 a game. In 2017-18, 31 teams qualify for this board; the median is 2,610 and Carolina Hurricanes leads at 2,358.
