How we calculate team CF%
We add every 5-on-5 shot attempt for and against while the team was on the ice, from NHL play-by-play joined to shift charts, and divide attempts for by the total. Empty-net time is excluded.
Why it matters for fantasy hockey
Teams that control attempts give their forwards more shots on goal and more chances to pile up points, and they spend less time defending, which helps plus-minus. A strong CF% with a weak goal record is a classic buy-low team.
How to read it
50% is break-even. Above 52% is a team that tilts the ice; below 48% means it chases the puck. Compare it with xGF% to see whether the extra attempts are good ones.
Limitations
Corsi counts a point shot through traffic the same as a slot one-timer. It is not adjusted for score state here, and trailing teams shoot more, so a team that led often can look worse than it is.
