How we calculate team FF%

The same on-ice count as Corsi, minus blocked attempts: goals, saves and misses for and against at 5-on-5, as a share.

Why it matters for fantasy hockey

Fenwick is the attempt stream our expected-goals model prices, so it lines up closely with xG. A team with a big gap between CF% and FF% either blocks a lot of shots or gets a lot of its own shots blocked.

How to read it

50% is even. Read it next to CF%: a team whose FF% is well above its CF% blocks shots well; one whose FF% is below its CF% shoots into shin pads.

Limitations

Blocking is partly a skill, so dropping blocks removes some real information. Like Corsi, it ignores where shots come from.
